Meet The Team!
Francis Secada
Francis is a graduate of the School of Public Affairs at CUNY Baruch College, where he pursued studies in Policy Analysis, Healthcare Policy and Public Management. He has spent a number of years as an independent consultant to various small-to-mid-sized clients, and found a significant gap between Program Evaluation and implementation. Sensing that clients struggle to implement the necessary changes due to institutional barriers, he sought to pivot towards coding and software development, to build tools and platforms to match his clients' needs. While looking to exit out of consulting and back into the job market, he found significant issues with the job search and sought to build a new solution. Sensing that others may be in his situation, he resolved to turn his scripts and automation tasks into a full-featured web platform for others.Francis is passionate about Data Science and Analytics. He is particularly interested in Healthcare Policy and Statistical Analysis on public and private spending in relation to The Affordable Care Act. More importantly, he cares about the key indicators that affect outcomes through the Public Health Framework and how federal and state policy affects outcomes for low-income and working-class populations.
In his spare time, Francis codes for other interests, is a noted audio engineer and musician, enjoys power-lifting, eating and drinking delicious things, being a dad to four adorable fur babies, and a devoted husband to his wife Louise. He can often be found with a guitar in his hands.
Sam Groveman
Sam Groveman is a graduate of Hunter College, obtaining his Ph.D in Radiochemistry. When he is not being a mad scientist, he is also a noted technologist and coder in C# and other languages. He is the principal coder and designer for Robo Ruckus, a robotics adaptation of the popular Robo Rally boardgame. Were it not for Sam Groveman, Francis' initial coding escapades would have ended in futile disappointment. Instead, Sam helped shepherd Francis' initial attempts at automation and python scripting. Afterward, he has served as a technical consultant and advisor on building out platforms, particularly focused on how to leverage Django in meaningful ways when comparing to other available tech stacks (e.g.: Drupal and WordPress).
When not advising, Sam can be found managing a lab, playing tabletop games, baking delicious treats, and generally being hyper-intelligent.
